Living Architecture
for a Thriving Planet
The Biogenic Architecture Lab designs living architectural materials and spaces that benefit from the natural intelligence of ecological systems. We approach design as a transdisciplinary endeavour with limitless potential to address contemporary environmental challenges across scales.
Globally, the built fabric consumes as much as 40% of all resources. We design with living materials like mycelium and algae. These rapidly renewable materials replace tired paradigms of scarcity with the material abundance of natural systems, engaging reciprocal relationships between material ecologies and architecture.
